15121512Claude Code uses tool search on Claude Opus 4, Claude Sonnet 4, Claude Haiku 4.5, and later models, or Opus 4.5, Sonnet 4.5, Haiku 4.5, and later models on Google Cloud's Agent Platform. On earlier models, Claude Code loads all MCP tools upfront, and `ENABLE_TOOL_SEARCH=true` doesn't override this.
