840840To move a CLI session into Desktop, run `/desktop` in the terminal. Claude saves your session and opens it in the desktop app, then exits the CLI. This command is available on macOS and x64 Windows when you are signed in with a Claude subscription. It is not available with API key authentication or on Amazon Bedrock, Google Cloud's Agent Platform, or Microsoft Foundry.

842To pick up a CLI session from inside Desktop instead, type `/resume` in the prompt box. Desktop lists the sessions you started from the CLI, and you can search them by title, folder, or branch and preview where each one left off. Select a session and it continues in the app with its full conversation and context.
