DisclaimerUnofficial, and not affiliated with Anthropic. Nearly all of this is read straight out of what ships: npm bundles, captured prompts, published docs. Anthropic's own notes go in verbatim, marked as theirs. The rest is my reading, and every entry carries the strings behind it. If one looks wrong, vote it down and say why.

Marketplace-declared suggestions are opt-in per marketplace through [managed settings](/docs/en/managed-settings). No marketplace's `relevance` declarations produce suggestions until an administrator adds it to the allowlist, including the official Anthropic marketplace. Claude Code also includes one built-in suggestion that is independent of this allowlist; that tip and all marketplace-declared tips are disabled when [`spinnerTipsEnabled`](/docs/en/settings-reference#spinnertipsenabled) is set to `false`.

-This feature requires Claude Code v2.1.152 or later. Older clients ignore the `relevance` field.

     * You ran `claude mcp add` from a different project. Local-scoped servers are tied to the project where you added them: the repository root, or the exact directory if you weren't in a git repository. Re-add the server from the project you're in now, or add it with `--scope user` so it isn't tied to a project.
     * You edited a configuration file at the wrong path. The correct files are `~/.claude.json` and `<project>/.mcp.json`. Claude Code doesn't read paths such as `~/.claude/.mcp.json`, `~/.claude/config/mcp.json`, `~/.claude/mcp.json`, or `%APPDATA%\Claude\mcp.json`. For user-scoped servers, run `claude mcp add --scope user`, which writes to the `mcpServers` key in `~/.claude.json`; for project-scoped servers, edit `.mcp.json` at the project root.
+ * You wrote a malformed entry in `.mcp.json`. Claude Code skips that entry and still loads the others. Run `claude mcp list` from your shell and look for the parse warning, which names the offending field.

Without a name, auto-generates one from conversation history. Also available in non-interactive mode (`-p`); requires Claude Code v2.1.205 or later. From every rename surface, including claude.ai and the desktop app, Claude Code replaces control and invisible characters in the new name with spaces and caps the name at 200 characters. If the name is empty once invisible characters are removed, Claude Code rejects it and shows `That name is empty once invisible characters are removed. Usage: /rename <name>`. The character replacement and length cap require Claude Code v2.1.221 or later. If another live session on this machine already uses a name you pass, Claude Code applies [a variant of it](/docs/en/sessions#name-your-sessions) instead |
