A connector is a link to an outside service that gives Claude extra tools. With it, Claude Code can:\n\n- recognize the connector's tools for creating and updating documents\n\n- build links that start with [https:\/\/claude.ai\/code\/artifact\/](https:\/\/claude.ai\/code\/artifact\/)\n\n- refer to a plan document as 'the Claude Doc'\n\nAll of this works only in remote sessions, meaning sessions that run on Anthropic's servers instead of your computer, and only when a remote switch is on.\n\nSeparately, when Claude hands work to a helper, its instructions now include guidance on HTML artifacts unless `CLAUDE_CODE_SIMPLE` is set.\n\n**Why**\n\nIn a remote session where this is on, plans and documents can be kept as Claude Docs with a claude.ai link.\n\n- Flag `tengu_inked_lantern`: Not enough to say (read for one account on one subscription tier against v2.1.317; this account: no value returned, anonymous baseline: no value returned, compiled default: off) These values were read against a different version of Claude Code, so treat them as the nearest reading available instead of one taken on this release.\n- Area: Claude Docs\n- Tier: Under the hood\n- Useful: 4\/5\n- Signal: 4\/5\n- Scope: individual\n- Heads-up: no"}
