A session is one conversation with Claude Code.\n\nClaude Code now checks which session the cut-off turn belongs to. If its last tool use was recorded by a different session, Claude Code treats it as copied and does not continue it. A tool use is one action Claude takes, such as running a command. This can happen, for example, after a session was forked or copied from another one.\n\nOn resume, cut-off calls to subagents, which are helper agents Claude starts for a task, are now counted as shown. Your messages also get back any plugin command they were started from.\n\n**Why**\n\nA forked or copied session no longer picks up and runs a turn that another session was in the middle of.\n\n- Flag `tengu_partitioned_finch`: Not enough to say (read for one account on one subscription tier against v2.1.315; this account: no value returned, anonymous baseline: no value returned, compiled default: on) These values were read against a different version of Claude Code, so treat them as the nearest reading available instead of one taken on this release.\n- Area: Sessions\n- Tier: Nothing to try yet\n- Useful: 2\/5\n- Signal: 3\/5\n- Scope: individual\n- Heads-up: no\n- Present in the build but not switched on"}
