Each tool has an input schema, a description of the information the tool expects. Claude Code now keeps a record of those schemas.\n\n- The tool cache gains `noteSpliced`, which stores a tool's schema, and `splicedInputSchema`, which reads it back. They use a new store that is emptied whenever the cache's `clear()` runs.\n\n- After tools are spliced in, each tool that is not from an MCP server now passes its `input_schema` to `noteSpliced`. MCP servers are outside programs that provide tools.\n\n- Separately, a Projects tool warning was reworded. It used to say \"project_read: could not save the document in the project-docs folder\". It now says \"Projects tool: could not save a text in the project-docs folder\".\n\n**Why**\n\nNothing visible changes when tools are added through tool search. The new record is plumbing, and what it is used for was not established. The Projects tool warning names the tool more plainly.\n\n- Area: Projects\n- Tier: You'll notice\n- Useful: 1\/5\n- Signal: 3\/5\n- Scope: individual\n- Heads-up: no"}
