It gets a limited number of characters. That limit used to be worked out only from the size of the model's context window (how much text it can hold at once) and the `skillListingBudgetFraction` setting. It can now also have a minimum that comes from the server.\n\n- The minimum applies only when `skillListingBudgetFraction` is not set, and only when another internal condition is also met.\n\n- The minimum is capped, so the server cannot raise it without limit.\n\n- When the server sends nothing, the minimum is 0, which means no change.\n\n- The `SLASH_COMMAND_TOOL_CHAR_BUDGET` environment variable still overrides the whole limit when you set it.\n\n**Why**\n\nWhen the server raises the minimum, the skill listing can fit more skills before descriptions are shortened or left out. If you want to control the size yourself, `skillListingBudgetFraction` or `SLASH_COMMAND_TOOL_CHAR_BUDGET` still take priority.\n\n- Flag `tengu_typed_pebble`: Not enough to say (read for one account on one subscription tier against v2.1.311; this account: no value returned, anonymous baseline: no value returned, compiled default: not a boolean we can read) These values were read against a different version of Claude Code, so treat them as the nearest reading available instead of one taken on this release.\n- Area: Skills\n- Names: `skillListingBudgetFraction`\n- Tier: Under the hood\n- Useful: 2\/5\n- Signal: 3\/5\n- Scope: individual\n- Heads-up: no"}
