A remote session is one running on another machine. Environment variables are named values, such as `ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL`, that programs read at start. `ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL` is still set.\n\nThe connection to the remote session can now also record why something was withheld:\n\n- 'provider-unknown' when the provider has not been set\n\n- 'data-residency' otherwise\n\nBefore, the connection simply assumed the provider was not Anthropic's own.\n\n**Why**\n\nThis could change which values a remote session inherits from where it was started.\n\n- Area: Sessions\n- Names: `ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL`\n- Tier: You'll notice\n- Useful: 2\/5\n- Signal: 1\/5\n- Scope: individual\n- Heads-up: yes"}
