Its description, the instructions Claude reads about how to use it, was rewritten in this release.\n\n- Removed: advice to poll an outside process with a check command rather than sleeping first, and to keep any sleep short.\n\n- Added: use the Monitor tool to stream events from a background process, where each line of output becomes a notification.\n\n- Added: for a single \"wait until done\", run Bash in the background instead.\n\n- Added: long `sleep` commands at the start are blocked, and to poll until something is true, use Monitor with an until-loop such as `until <check>; do sleep 2; done`.\n\n**Why**\n\nChanging Claude's own instructions changes how it behaves. Expect Claude to use Monitor or background commands when it needs to wait, rather than pausing with a long sleep.\n\n- Area: Bash\n- Tier: You'll notice\n- Useful: 2\/5\n- Signal: 1\/5\n- Scope: individual\n- Heads-up: no"}
