When Claude Code loads a stored transcript, the saved history of a session, it can now walk that chain from the latest message. If a message points to one that is missing, Claude Code links it to the nearest earlier main message that has nothing following it, up to a set limit. It records how many links were repaired and how big the gaps were.\n\nThis runs only when a server-side switch is on and two other conditions about the environment hold.\n\n**Why**\n\nIt is meant to repair cloud or Remote Control sessions that come back with broken history, so they can be resumed in full.\n\n- Area: Sessions\n- Tier: You'll notice\n- Useful: 3\/5\n- Signal: 2\/5\n- Scope: individual\n- Heads-up: no"}
