When you invoke a skill, Claude Code now first searches the files that have changed for skills nested inside them. It then checks whether a version of the skill scoped to a particular folder applies. That check now runs when either of two skill lists has entries. Before, it stopped when the first list was empty and did not search changed files at all.\n\nIf the search fails, Claude Code logs \"[skills] Changed files not searched for nested skills\" and carries on.\n\n**Why**\n\nVersions of a skill that belong to a specific folder are found more reliably, including ones in files that changed during the session.\n\n- Area: Skills\n- Tier: You'll notice\n- Useful: 2\/5\n- Signal: 2\/5\n- Scope: individual\n- Heads-up: no"}
