A plugin can bring its own MCP server (named starting with `plugin:`), and if the same service is also available as a claude.ai connector, Claude Code removes the duplicate. Before, every plugin server that matched a claude.ai connector was removed.\n\nThere is now a new path for the case where the matching connector fails an eligibility check, meaning it could not be used anyway:\n\n- With the flag `tengu_delightful_hamster` on, the plugin server is kept.\n\n- Without it, the code falls back to false and the plugin server is dropped, as before.\n\n- In both cases Claude Code logs how many plugin servers were involved and whether they were kept.\n\nThe flag can be switched by a value from the server. Nothing has been read about this flag, so whether it is on for anyone is unknown.\n\n**Why**\n\nWhen it applies, a plugin's MCP server no longer disappears just because it duplicates a connector that could not be used, so its tools stay available.\n\n- Flag `tengu_delightful_hamster`: Not enough to say (read for one account on one subscription tier against v2.1.307; this account: no value returned, anonymous baseline: no value returned, compiled default: off) These values were read against a different version of Claude Code, so treat them as the nearest reading available instead of one taken on this release.\n- Area: MCP\n- Tier: You'll notice\n- Useful: 2\/5\n- Signal: 2\/5\n- Scope: individual\n- Heads-up: no"}
