A key chord is a combination pressed together, such as Ctrl+C. Claude Code now checks chords before sending them and refuses:\n\n- Chords with more than the allowed number of keys.\n\n- Chords with more than one key that is not a modifier key (such as Ctrl, Alt or Shift). Shift together with an arrow, Home, End or Page key is still allowed.\n\nThe error tells Claude that a chord is modifier keys plus at most one other key, and to send a separate action for each key.\n\n**Why**\n\nClaude gets a clear explanation when it asks for a combination that can't be pressed, so it can try again correctly.\n\n- Area: Elsewhere\n- Tier: You'll notice\n- Useful: 2\/5\n- Signal: 1\/5\n- Scope: individual\n- Heads-up: no"}
