A policy helper is a program an administrator sets up that Claude Code runs to read those settings. Before, this check could only be retired in one case, when settings from the organization's server replaced it, and it was never restarted during a session.\n\nNow the check can be retired and run again partway through a session:\n\n- When the session starts asking its organization for settings, a fresh pass runs.\n\n- When the session stops asking its organization, the base settings are read again in full.\n\n- If the helper program is still running when this happens, its output is thrown away.\n\n- If a refusal could not be shown to you, it is kept and shown on the next pass.\n\n**Why**\n\nOrganization policy now follows changes in the organization's settings during a session, instead of staying fixed at whatever was read when the session began.\n\n- Area: Managed Settings\n- Tier: You'll notice\n- Useful: 3\/5\n- Signal: 3\/5\n- Scope: org\n- Heads-up: yes"}
