The built-in web-fetch subagent always used the same model as your main session. It now uses Haiku, a smaller and cheaper model, when a switch is on and several checks about your model and provider pass. Otherwise it still uses your session's model. The switch is on by default in the code unless it is turned off remotely.\n\nIts description also gains a new instruction. If a URL failed because of the site, it should not be fetched again. If a site refuses automated fetches, the site's other pages should not be tried either, and another source should be used.\n\n**Why**\n\nFetching web pages may cost less, and the quality of page summaries may differ. Claude also wastes less time on sites that block it.\n\n- Flag `tengu_nimble_wren`: Not enough to say (read for one account on one subscription tier against v2.1.300; this account: no value returned, anonymous baseline: no value returned, compiled default: on) These values were read against a different version of Claude Code, so treat them as the nearest reading available instead of one taken on this release.\n- Area: WebFetch\n- Tier: You'll notice\n- Useful: 3\/5\n- Signal: 3\/5\n- Scope: individual\n- Heads-up: yes"}
