Some events can wake it up so it reacts to them. Until now, such events were dropped only when the agent had already stopped or could not be resumed.\n\nThere is now a third case. When a plugin (an add-on package that extends Claude Code) refuses the wake-up, the events are dropped and recorded with the reason `dropped_by_hook`. Claude Code remembers this hold, so the same events are not delivered to the agent again later.\n\n**Why**\n\nPlugins now get a say in whether a background agent is woken up. If an agent does not react to something you expected it to, a plugin may have blocked the wake-up.\n\n- Area: Plugins\n- Tier: You'll notice\n- Useful: 3\/5\n- Signal: 3\/5\n- Scope: individual\n- Heads-up: no"}
