New helpers now handle those placeholders before a message goes out:\n\n- Splicing: pasted text is inserted into the message before it is sent over the bridge to a remote session, and `inlinePastes` is sent along with it. Before, pasted values were joined straight into the content.\n\n- Blank pastes: the send is cancelled with \"Not sent: the pasted text is blank.\"\n\n- Missing pastes: when the stored text for a placeholder is gone, the send is refused with a message telling you to \"Put that text back in place of its placeholder and send again.\"\n\nThe behaviour sits behind the `tengu_vscode_inline_pastes` switch, which falls back to on in the code.\n\n**Why**\n\nA message that would have gone out with its pasted text empty or silently missing is now stopped with an explanation. If you see one of these messages, paste the text again and resend.\n\n- Flag `tengu_vscode_inline_pastes`: Not enough to say (read for one account on one subscription tier against v2.1.296; this account: no value returned, anonymous baseline: no value returned, compiled default: on) These values were read against a different version of Claude Code, so treat them as the nearest reading available instead of one taken on this release.\n- Area: Elsewhere\n- Tier: You'll notice\n- Useful: 2\/5\n- Signal: 2\/5\n- Scope: individual\n- Heads-up: yes"}
