It carries short coded values for:\n\n- the Claude Code version\n\n- how Claude Code was started\n\n- where the request came from\n\n- the permission mode\n\n- the sandbox and network-access setup (the sandbox limits what commands can reach)\n\n- the host environment\n\n- the git origin of the project\n\nSending it depends on a remote setting that falls back to off when the server sends nothing, and on two further checks. When it is off, the header is not built.\n\nAny header you add with `ANTHROPIC_CUSTOM_HEADERS` under this name, written plainly or hashed, is removed.\n\n**Why**\n\nWhen switched on, this header would tell the API about your permission and sandbox setup along with each request.\n\n- Flag `tengu_wiggly_dove`: Not enough to say (read for one account on one subscription tier against v2.1.296; this account: no value returned, anonymous baseline: no value returned, compiled default: off) These values were read against a different version of Claude Code, so treat them as the nearest reading available instead of one taken on this release.\n- Area: API Requests\n- Tier: Under the hood\n- Useful: 2\/5\n- Signal: 4\/5\n- Scope: individual\n- Heads-up: no"}
