Before, it ran only when every later message was a system message. It can now also pass over empty entries left by `SessionStart` hooks. A hook is a command you configure Claude Code to run at a set moment, and `SessionStart` hooks run when a session begins or resumes. This applies to their progress and success entries, and only when a related setting is present and a second internal switch is on.\n\nThe cleanup sits behind a remote switch that falls back to off when the server sends nothing. In a reading taken before this release, the server returned that switch as on for this site's account and for an anonymous check.\n\n**Why**\n\nEmpty `SessionStart` hook leftovers at the end of a transcript no longer stop this cleanup from running.\n\n- Flag `tengu_silly_waterfall`: Off by default, switched on for this account (read for one account on one subscription tier against v2.1.295; this account: on, anonymous baseline: on, compiled default: off) These values were read against a different version of Claude Code, so treat them as the nearest reading available instead of one taken on this release.\n- Area: Sessions\n- Tier: You'll notice\n- Useful: 1\/5\n- Signal: 1\/5\n- Scope: individual\n- Heads-up: no"}
