The messages Claude, the model, receives when one of those machines stops answering have been reworked.\n\n- `host_asleep` is a new result for a tool call (an action Claude takes) on a machine that reported it went to sleep. The message tells a withdrawn request apart from a paused command.\n\n- `host_unresponsive` now takes a `returnNoted` flag. When the flag is set, Claude is told not to call the machine again until a later attached-machines note says it is reachable, or until the user says it is back.\n\n- The note about unreachable machines now comes in three versions: `return_noted`, `rechecked` and `call_only`.\n\n- The `return_noted` version tells Claude it need not check, because a later copy of the note will say when the machine reconnects.\n\n- The `rechecked` version says the session will recheck a few times over the next five minutes.\n\nBefore, the note was a single fixed text. It said a call takes up to 10 seconds to fail and is the only way to learn whether the machine is back. `host_unresponsive` always told Claude to check again only when the user says the machine is back.\n\n**Why**\n\nThis changes how Claude behaves after a remote machine goes to sleep or drops offline. It should spend fewer attempts on a machine that cannot answer yet.\n\n- Area: Remote Tools\n- Tier: You'll notice\n- Useful: 2\/5\n- Signal: 2\/5\n- Scope: individual\n- Heads-up: no"}
