MCP servers are outside programs that give Claude Code extra tools, and plugins are add-on packages that extend Claude Code. Metadata here means extra labelled information attached to a request or a result.\n\n- Values that a server addresses under `claude\/plugins` and `anthropic\/sources` are copied into the result.\n\n- Each value is held to a size limit. A value over the limit is left out, logged, and named in a `claude\/omitted` list.\n\n- Request metadata set by hooks (commands Claude Code runs automatically at certain points) is checked.\n\nAll of this is off unless it is switched on remotely. One part runs regardless: the keys reserved for plugins are always removed from request metadata that hooks set.\n\n**Why**\n\nThis prepares a channel for MCP servers to hand information to plugins. For now, the only change you are likely to notice is that hooks can no longer set the plugin-reserved keys themselves.\n\n- Flag `tengu_snappy_plum`: Not enough to say (read for one account on one subscription tier against v2.1.295; this account: no value returned, anonymous baseline: no value returned, compiled default: off) These values were read against a different version of Claude Code, so treat them as the nearest reading available instead of one taken on this release.\n- Area: Plugins\n- Tier: Nothing to try yet\n- Useful: 4\/5\n- Signal: 4\/5\n- Scope: individual\n- Heads-up: no\n- Present in the build but not switched on"}
