Deny rules block an action outright and ask rules make Claude ask you first. Claude Code now shows one of two warnings about these rules when a session runs in the cloud:\n\n- \"Your deny and ask rules are not in force in the cloud session\"\n\n- \"Your deny and ask rules may not be in force in the cloud session\"\n\nThe warning can list file names. That list includes files that were not sent to the cloud because they are symbolic links (shortcuts that point to another file).\n\n**Why**\n\nRules that protect you on your own machine might not carry over to a cloud session. The warning tells you this before you rely on them.\n\n- Area: Cloud Sessions\n- Tier: You'll notice\n- Useful: 2\/5\n- Signal: 2\/5\n- Scope: individual\n- Heads-up: no"}
