When it is turned on, Claude Desktop runs Claude Code in gateway mode, the same mode set by `CLAUDE_CODE_USE_GATEWAY`. This applies to users who signed in through the gateway's own sign-in. A gateway here is a service an organisation puts between its users and the model.\n\nIn gateway mode, Claude Code turns off usage analytics and makes no signed-in calls to Anthropic.\n\n**Why**\n\nThis gives organisations that use a gateway one switch that keeps Claude Code launched from Desktop from sending usage data or signed-in requests to Anthropic.\n\n- Area: Gateway Auth\n- Names: `inferenceGatewayManagedClaudeCode`, `CLAUDE_CODE_USE_GATEWAY`\n- Tier: Use it now\n- Useful: 5\/5\n- Signal: 3\/5\n- Scope: org\n- Heads-up: no"}
