In a partial compaction, the most recent messages are kept word for word after the summary.\n\nThe summary now ends with an added note. It says the messages after the summary are the most recent ones from before compaction, kept verbatim. It also says the summary was written without seeing them, so anything the summary calls not yet done may already be done.\n\n**Why**\n\nThis changes what Claude reads after a partial compaction. It should cut down on Claude redoing work that the kept messages show is already finished, or acting on a summary that is out of date.\n\n- Area: Compaction\n- Tier: You'll notice\n- Useful: 2\/5\n- Signal: 2\/5\n- Scope: individual\n- Heads-up: no"}
