Before, it kept it for a fixed time with no renewal. Now:\n\n- the hold can last a set number of seconds, and is renewed when the attachment is asked for again\n\n- attachments that are never used are released when their time runs out\n\n- a download that stalls is marked, and the message shows `[attachment did not arrive]` in its place\n\nThe hold length comes from a remote setting that falls back to 0 when the server sends nothing.\n\n**Why**\n\nThis is meant to lose fewer attachments in remote sessions, and to make it visible when one does go missing instead of dropping it silently.\n\n- Flag `tengu_hazel_lantern`: Not enough to say (read for one account on one subscription tier against v2.1.286; this account: no value returned, anonymous baseline: no value returned, compiled default: not a boolean we can read) These values were read against a different version of Claude Code, so treat them as the nearest reading available instead of one taken on this release.\n- Area: Attachments\n- Tier: Nothing to try yet\n- Useful: 2\/5\n- Signal: 3\/5\n- Present in the build but not switched on"}
