Before, it inspected only the `GIT_SSH_COMMAND`, `GIT_SSH` and `GIT_SSH_VARIANT` environment variables.\n\n- `GIT_SSH_COMMAND` is now built for the clone from these settings.\n\n- `GIT_SSH_VARIANT` is set from your environment or, if that is not set, from `ssh.variant` in git config.\n\n- OpenSSH check: it tests whether the configured SSH command is OpenSSH. The lookup runs inside a private temporary folder.\n\nIf no temporary folder can be created, the clone stops with an error that says: \"Set CLAUDE_CODE_TMPDIR to a usable directory to fix this.\" `CLAUDE_CODE_TMPDIR` is a setting that tells Claude Code where to put its temporary files.\n\n**Why**\n\nIf you connect to git servers through a custom SSH command set in git config, such as `core.sshCommand`, plugin and marketplace clones should now use it too.
