These are on\/off settings the server can control, and they decide which extension features appear. When the product-feedback policy or related state changes, Claude Code now re-reads every one of those switches and sends them to the extension again. They include:\n\n- onboarding\n\n- the check before resuming a session\n\n- inline pastes\n\n- auto-mode state\n\n- several others\n\nBefore, a policy change only updated two of the switches. If the refresh fails, Claude Code logs \"[VSCode] Failed to refresh the policy-bound gates:\".\n\n**Why**\n\nThe effect is small.
