Claude Code now counts how many go unused in a row, and using one resets the count. After 20 unused in a row, it saves that streak to your settings and shows suggestions less often.\n\nA one-time notice reads \"Showing fewer prompt suggestions \u00b7 use one to bring them back\". It appears only when:\n\n- Your install is at least 14 days old\n\n- `CLAUDE_CODE_ENABLE_PROMPT_SUGGESTION` is not set to true\n\nSetting `CLAUDE_CODE_ENABLE_PROMPT_SUGGESTION` to true turns this backoff off.\n\n**Why**\n\nIf you ignore suggestions they mostly go away. Using one brings them back, and forcing them on with the environment variable keeps them at their usual frequency.\n\n- Area: Prompt Suggestions\n- Tier: You'll notice\n- Useful: 3\/5\n- Signal: 2\/5"}
