The server-side flag `tengu_saffron_ladder` controls it. It used to hold a JSON payload with optional `subline`, `option` (label and message) and `dialogNote` text. That payload set the upsell wording in the Fable-limit message, the option label in the dialog, and a dimmed note line. Now:\n\n- `tengu_saffron_ladder` is a plain on\/off value that counts as off when the server gives no value.\n\n- When it is on, the upgrade command is available and the plan is not enterprise, the dialog adds a fixed option labelled \"Upgrade to Max\". It appears when the dialog is in picker mode, or in some other states.\n\n- The server can no longer change the option's text, the subline or the dimmed `dialogNote` line, which is gone.\n\n- The warning for an unparseable value of the flag has been removed.\n\n**Why**\n\nThe upgrade wording is now fixed in the app. Any account that was shown custom subline or option text loses it, and the \"Upgrade to Max\" option stays hidden unless the flag is on for that account.\n\n- Flag `tengu_saffron_ladder`: Not enough to say (read for one account on one subscription tier against v2.1.282; this account: no value returned, anonymous baseline: no value returned, compiled default: off) These values were read against a different version of Claude Code, so treat them as the nearest reading available instead of one taken on this release.\n- Area: Usage & Limits\n- Tier: You'll notice\n- Useful: 3\/5\n- Signal: 4\/5"}
