The \"send now\" key pushes a queued message through straight away. Until now that meant interrupting the running turn.\n\nBehind the gate `tengu_velvet_panda` (a server-controlled switch), the key now first tries `deliverWithoutCancel()`, which uses `sendQueuedNow`. That waits for a point in the running turn where queued messages can be delivered and hands them over without stopping the turn. This applies in prompt mode while a turn is active.\n\n- If that works, the key press is logged as `input_send_now_key`.\n\n- If it does not work, the old behaviour runs and cancels the turn, logged as `fell_back_to_cancel`.\n\nWith the gate off, the key interrupts the turn as before.\n\n**Why**\n\nPressing send-now no longer has to throw away the work Claude is in the middle of. The only time the turn is still cancelled is when the message can't be delivered inside it.\n\n- Flag `tengu_velvet_panda`: Not enough to say (read for one account on one subscription tier against v2.1.281; this account: no value returned, anonymous baseline: no value returned, compiled default: on) These values were read against a different version of Claude Code, so treat them as the nearest reading available instead of one taken on this release.\n- Area: Message Queue\n- Tier: You'll notice\n- Useful: 4\/5\n- Signal: 4\/5"}
