Those images only fed `tengu_pdf_page_extraction` telemetry, which is usage data reported back. That render is now skipped when the `tengu_deep_starlight` gate is true.\n\nPDF renders also accept an abort signal, which lets a render be stopped part way. It is wired in from files attached with an @-mention. Each outcome is reported with:\n\n- whether the request was a `page_range` or `whole_file`\n\n- the render result\n\n- file size in bytes and page counts\n\n**Why**\n\nReading a large PDF can avoid work whose only purpose was reporting, and a PDF render started from an @-mention can be cancelled instead of running to the end.\n\n- Flag `tengu_deep_starlight`: Not enough to say (read for one account on one subscription tier against v2.1.281; this account: no value returned, anonymous baseline: no value returned, compiled default: on) These values were read against a different version of Claude Code, so treat them as the nearest reading available instead of one taken on this release.\n- Area: Elsewhere\n- Tier: Nothing to try yet\n- Useful: 1\/5\n- Signal: 2\/5"}
