Claude Code reads the file with an internal cancel signal attached. Before, if that signal fired, the read raised an error. It now returns nothing instead. The cancel signal is also now always fired once the read finishes, whether or not it succeeded.\n\n**Why**\n\nA cancelled @-mention read now ends quietly instead of surfacing an error.
