Fetching them is off unless you set `CLAUDE_CODE_SYNC_SKILLS`, or set `CLAUDE_CODE_SYNC_SESSION_REFS` with a session id latched in `CLAUDE_CODE_SESSION_ID`. Neither the source label nor the provenance value exists in 2.1.227.\n\n**Details**\n\n- The `\/skills` picker groups them under a new source label `claude.ai sync`, and their descriptions carry a `(claude.ai sync)` suffix.\n- They are deduplicated against local skills, take part in shadowing and name-collision handling, and are excluded from the bundled and plugin filters.\n- The skills UI gained a separate never-invoked warning for them.\n- If reconciling them against MCP-provided commands throws, the loader drops the synced skills rather than failing the load.\n- In 2.1.227 the sync directory existed but its contents were never loaded.\n\n**Evidence**\n\n`loadedFrom: \"syncedSkills\"`, `claude.ai sync`\n\n- Area: Skills\n- Names: `CLAUDE_CODE_SYNC_SKILLS`, `CLAUDE_CODE_SYNC_SESSION_REFS`, `CLAUDE_CODE_SESSION_ID`\n- Tier: Nothing to try yet\n- Useful: 3\/5\n- Signal: 5\/5\n- Present in the build but not switched on"}
